Guys,

Looking for a good body shop in the VA Beach/Norfolk area. Just bought a new front spoiler and valance for my 87' Carrera. I also need some touch up done to the paint...it's black so talk about a never ending quest. Any suggestions?

Great get together on Saturday night.

I know a couple of folks have used a body shop recently but I 'm not sure who they used... Alex and/or Kevin...can you help? Also, John Kopp may be able to give you a recommendation. (They all see the forum e-mails so hopefully one of them will have a suggestion.)

Glad you enjoyed Saturday evening .. a great bunch of folks!

1) Eurofinish in Virginia Beach. Owner Phil Rowland 757-491-2310. Phil has moved to a new and better location BUT he is waiting on a new paint booth to be installed. If he cannot do the work, he could refer you somehwere close. Phil is the best I have seen at what he does. Can be slow as he is a smaller shop. But excellent work...the best
2) Knox Auto in Smithfield. Owner Rob Moore 757-238-2158. Rob does a lot of insurance work for Nationwide, State Farm, Travelers, and they repaired my 996 ($12,000 damage) in March 2010. They also repaired Mike Hauser's damaged GT3 a couple of years ago. They can get you in and out and are very reasonable and do quality work.

These are the two shops with which I have unfortunately had personal experience!

Brian at Auto Elite used to be a decent shop in Virginia Beach as well. Although it seems he's been caught up in a lot of insurance work these days...not sure if he'll be able to fit you in or not. He's done quite a bit for our club racers, and he installed a carbon fiber sunroof insert in my car last year...turned out very nice. He also has a buddy called Joey at a shop called Stock Or Modified (www.stockormodified.net/). I haven't been there, but he comes recommended, and might be able to fit us in easier if timing is an issue, since he apparently does very little insurance work at this point. Alex's suggestions are also very good options. If you're looking for perfect work, and you don't have any time restrictions whatsoever, Phil at Eurofinish is considered the best in the area. As Alex says, however, he can be pretty slow to completion. Good luck!
