New to PCA & FSR as I signed up for DE at VIR in March & am eager to circulate that course in my '71 914/4. Short history, grew up in Hopewell, BCE from Rensselaer, Air Force '68-71 then Procter & Gamble from '71-'99, mostly in Greenville, NC. Retired rich in Jan '00, was worth half that in March '00 & struggling to keep afloat ever since.
First 914 was a project for my son in '91 which he did the nose job on within 2 weeks, so got some experience with sheet metal pounding out, then sold it to get a '66 Mustang, so he's mainly Detroit iron. Me, I've been through a '68 BMW 2002, 5 used Volvo 245's from '73-'93, did a '67 'vette top flight NCRS in '92, started windsurfing in '95 & still at it, cruise on a '92 BMW K75 and now hotrodding a '94 Volvo 855 daily driver (turbo, of course).
Current 914 was purchased as a project in '01 with the nose welded up but not painted & have slowly brought it back to life over the past 8 years. Now ready to take a shot at some DE days & see if I can improve....

Welcome, John! You'll have a blast at the Zone 2 PCA event. Weather is always a bit of a concern in March, but otherwise, it's a fantastic event. I've attached a checklist of things that might be helpful to bring along for your first DE. Modify at will, of course, but this might help in prepping. Your car's fairly light, but I'd still consider using racing brake fluid vs. standard DOT. Feel free to give me a call sometime, and I'll be happy to help with anything I can. Kevin 757-646-1919. Sounds like you're a car guy...so fitting in will be easy with this group. Glad to have you!

Welcome John. Looking forward to meeting you. There's a fun run to Yorktown on Saturday February 26. It would be a good opportunity to meet people and get a heavy dose of DE insights and stories.

Feel free to contact me with any membership needs or questions.
