Donna and I attended Shenandoah Region’s 14th annual Richmond Porsche Meet (RPM) held June 5 & 6. After the breakfast on Saturday, we viewed the eighty-four Porsches on display, from the classic 356 to the newest Boxster Spyder and Panamera. We introduced some new PCA members to this event and visited with many friends at the beautiful river home of Howard & Leeanne Faunce.
After a delicious catered lunch we participated in the fun run with about 28 other people, arriving at Agecroft Hall, a 15th century English Tudor manor house. There, we had our own private tour followed by refreshments on the lawn of the mansion. Next, we caught the tail end of the tech session hosted by Euroclassics. After a quick freshening up, we were at the concours awards dinner held at the Martin’s Grant club house where guest speaker Jack Bair spoke about the shortest Porsche production run of all, the 2005 PCA 50th Anniversary Club Coupe. It was a wonderful jam-packed day and well worth attending.
Though we didn’t attend Sunday’s autocross at the Southside Speedway, we know all who did enjoyed the challenging competition on the 1/3-mile banked, oval track.
We are proud to announce the FSR members who won concours awards on Saturday. Don Henck placed 1st in the “Early 911” category with his 1973 911 Roadster; Rob McDonough placed 4th in the “Late 911” category with his 2010 911S Cab; and Gary Schepker placed 1st in the 928/968/944/924 category with his 1990 944S2. Congratulations to all!
