Tire Rack Street Survival (TRSS)
May 16, 2026 8:00 am - 6:00 pm
Municipal Airport in Franklin, VAFirst Settlers Region of the Porsche Club of America is hosting our first Tire Rack Street Survival (TRSS) Teen Driving School on SATURDAY, MAY 16, 2026, at the municipal airport in Franklin, VA. The TRSS is a safe teen driving program, designed to go beyond today’s required driver education and give teens across the U.S. the driving tools and hands-on experience they need to become safer, smarter drivers. The school provides trained and qualified in-car driving instructors as well as valuable classroom experience for each student.
Note: Any teen driver can attend as long as they have a valid Learner’s Permit or Driver’s License. They do not need to be affiliated with First Settlers Region or Porsche Club of America.
“20% of deaths among vehicle passengers of all ages occur while a teenager is driving.”
STUDENT REGISTRATION: https://www.motorsportreg.com/events/trss-template-source-scca-arizona-motorsports-park-tire-rack-street-734151
But FSR needs help from the Porsche Community to make this happen… WE NEED VOLUNTEERS! Our objective for our first class is to train 20 students, so we need a minimum of 10 in-car coaches (more is better) and an estimated 20 other volunteers for registration and course workers.
No previous experience is necessary for volunteers. While track instructor experience is a plus, so is experience as a parent teaching a teen how to survive on the road. Coaches do need to complete on on-line training session.
VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION: https://www.motorsportreg.com/events/fsr-pca-trss-volunteer-registration-franklin-municipal-airport-first-settlers-013102
We also need help spreading the word and recruiting students. More specifically, our target audience are the parents of teens between 15 and 21 years old. Please let us know if you have connections to our local schools, sports teams, your teens or your neighbors’ teens. Our school is open to the community.
Information about TRSS is available at: https://streetsurvival.org/schools/students/
Please contact Phil Grandfield at FilthyF14@yahoo.com if you have any questions or want to help out.
