”A SALUTE TO OUR CHARITIES”

FIRST SETTLERS REGION SPRING EVENT

at the

WILLIAMSBURG HOTEL AND CONFERENCE CENTER

JUNE 16, 2012

COME AND MEET THE REPRESENTIVES OF OUR CHARITIES AND

LEARN MORE ABOUT THEM.

OUR GUEST SPEAKER WILL BE JAY REDMAN, A NAVY SEAL WOUNDED IN IRAQ AND THE CEO OF “WOUNDED WEAR”; A COMPANY THAT WAS STARTED TO PROVIDE CLOTHING MODIFICATIONS TO AMERICA’S WOUNDED WARRIORS.

The event will start at 11AM at the facilities of the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia in Norfolk for the eastern members and the Central Virginia Foodbank in Richmond for western members. We will enjoy an informative tour of the facilities and a box lunch at the cost of $12 per person.

Both groups will drive-off on respective fun runs, timed to meet up at the James River Ferry in Isle of Wight County. We have plans to coordinate and try to get all the Porches on the same ferry. Once across the river, we will drive to The Williamsburg Hotel and Conference center.

Munchies and cocktails will be provided in the hospitality suite.

There will be a dinner and Silent Auction to raise money for our charities.

Remember, this is Williamsburg with great shopping and many historic sites. Plan to make it a full weekend!

Representatives from the Foodbanks, the Fisher House and the Boys Home of Covington Virginia will be there to answer any questions you may have about their programs.

The Mission of Wounded Wear: Wounded Wear was created to provide clothing and clothing modifications to America’s Wounded Warriors, to promote awareness throughout the country of the sacrifices that wounded service members and their families have made in the name of freedom; and to foster a sense of pride, camaraderie, determination and strength of purpose amongst them.

Please contact Josie Grandfield at anurse47@yahoo.com or George Michaels at registrar@fsrpca.org if you have any questions.

Please Join us for a great weekend!!
