Richmond area FSR members,

Next week on Thursday 4/5 Garth Stein, author of “The Art of Racing in the Rain” will be speaking at Glen Allen High School, 10700 Staples Mill Road, Glen Allen, Virginia 23060. The middle school students of Henrico County were all encouraged to read that book. Several of us from FSR participated in a sort of pep rally to get the kids at on school excited to read the book.

We have been asked if we could, once again, have a few Porsches available to make the event more fun. Steve Sarfaty is looking for a few volunteers to bring their Porsches to the school on 4/5 at 9:30 am until noon. Garth Stein will be speaking to students during that time and they will be encouraged to head out to look at our cars before and after.

There will be a second session with the speaker from 7:00 to 8:00 pm. The school is asking for our cars from 5:45 pm till 8:00. We have been offered several reserved seats for the evening session for FSR members who bring their cars to the event.

Please shoot Steve an email at steve.sarfaty@hamiltonbeach.com to let him know if you are available. If you can’t make both sessions you are still invited but they do want cars for the kids in the morning. If you have any questions you can email or call Steve’s cell: 804 241-6549.

The book was fun and I expect listening to the author speak to be good fun too. Come on Richmond. Let’s help out the Henrico School District by showing our favorite cars. It’s good for the kids, it’s good for the school and it’s good for our club! Please let Steve know ASAP.
