About
I am from the Richmond area and, except for brief periods at Va. Tech and Fort Knox, I have lived here my whole life. My first Porsche connection came in 1977 when my neighbor let me drive his new-to-him 1976 911. I was hooked. I had previously been enthused over muscle cars and Mustang and Camaro type vehicles and previously owned a 1968 Camaro. After driving the 911 though, I knew I had to have a Porsche. I was able to find a 1967 912 that was available and, shortly after I bought it, I joined PCA in 1978. The 912 was 11 years old when I bought it and it took me another 18 years to buy a 1974 911 in 1994 when it was 20 years old. I kept the 912 until 2008 and I still have the 911. In 2020 I was able to order a new Cayman which I hope to have for as long as I am able to drive. Along the way I have also owned a 1961 Ford, a 1974 Toyota Celica, a 1991 Ford Escort, a 2011 Mini Cooper S, and several small pickups.
I enjoy doing as much work on my vehicles as possible and the two lifts in my garage help a lot with that. With First Settlers I have enjoyed participating in and planning many driving events such as TSD Rallys and Fun Runs and I am currently the Driving Tour Chair and Western Assistant VP.
